Glamorgan Kindergarten is part of the Northern Auckland Free Kindergarten Association with strong links to Glamorgan School which is a short walk away.  We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic teacher who is committed to sustainability and interested in Enviroschools.

Glamorgan Kindergarten has a stable, passionate and inspired team of teachers.  The children attend from 8.45am till 2.45pm and enjoy a spacious and inviting indoor/outdoor environment, which includes a natural bush area for exploration.

Teachers enjoy excellent working conditions under the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (e.g. work hours 8am to 4.30pm, 6 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional time, generous non-contact time) along with the security of being part of a supportive association. Torbay kindergarten is an attractive kindergarten on the North Shore with a spacious and inviting indoor/outdoor environment. Children are very much in charge of their own learning and teachers are fully engaged with following and supporting their learning with provocations and conversations.

Torbay Kindergarten has an exceptional reputation in the community and is well supported in all its community events and the regular excursions to the beach.

The children attend 8.30am - 2.30pm with the younger age group on Thursdays and Fridays and older children Monday to Wednesday.

I HAVE A PRIMARY TEACHING QUALIFICATION, CAN I WORK AS A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER?

You need to have a recognised early childhood education qualification and be a registered teacher to be permanently employed by us. Teachers with a primary teaching qualification will need to undertake the one-year Graduate programme to work for us.   

CAN I WORK FOR NORTHERN AUCKLAND KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION IF I HAVE AN OVERSEAS QUALIFICATION?

Your qualification needs to be assessed by the NZ Qualifications Authority and approved by the Education Council for registration as a teacher. Once you receive registration status you would be eligible to apply for permanent positions with us. Teaching positions are advertised in the Education Gazette which is published fortnightly and on our website.
